Java Software Developer – Planning & Optimization

The Position

You will complement our development team and provide maintenance and support services to our international customers. You will be involved in projects in the fields of Advanced Planning and Scheduling as well as Optimization.

You will be responsible to develop new components and enhance existing ones such as to allow for new customer requirements in the optimization domain as well as in the scheduling components of the framework. Furthermore, you will maintain and enhance the existing components for load balancing and for sequencing problems. You will translate customer needs into new functionalities and components of our featherlite platform by using its existing generic planning and scheduling components.

Moreover, you will interact with our customers, find out about their needs in strategic planning and optimization, and present your solution approaches and the results of your findings.

Your Profile

You have a PhD or a master degree from a University or have a similar education or qualification.

You have excellent knowledge of data structures and algorithms, and have a good overview of the different solution approaches to optimization problems and know how to tackle such problems.

Ideally, you have practical experience with projects from the domain of planning and optimization, and you have put algorithms and optimization into practice to solve real-world problems.

You have solid soft skills, you communicate and negotiate easily with internal and external partners. You are thrilled at learning new skills, are very initiative and keen on building your own sphere of action.

You are fluent in speech and writing in both English and German.
